Marinara Spaghetti and Meatballs
Ingredients:
-1 onion
-2 cloves of garlic
-Red pepper flakes
-Oil
-1 lb lean ground beef
-1 cup parmesan
-Parsley (fresh or dry)
-Breadcrumbs
-2 eggs
-1/2 cup of 2% milk
-Italian seasoning
-Sea salt
-Oregano
-Basil
-Classico sweet basil marinara
-Spagetti
On the stove:
- Chop and sauté a whole onion with a tablespoon of oil.
- Mince garlic and add to the pan.
- Add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
- Sprinkle generously with salt.
Prep:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef with eggs, parsley, bread crumbs and parmesan well. Kneed together with hands.
- Allow the onion and garlic mixture to cool and then add to the mixing bowl, once again combining well.
- Add italian seasoning, oregano, basil and more sea salt as preferred.
- Add milk to the bowl and kneed together for the final time.
- Make a small burger patty and fry on stove to check that the flavoring is right.
- Coat baking pan with marinara sauce and set aside.
- Make the ground beef mixture into small meatballs (stuff with mozzarella for added flavor).
Final Steps:
- Brown the outsides of the meatballs on an oiled frying pan, then add them to the readied baking pan.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes in the oven.
- Boil water and make spaghetti.
Finally, garnish with grated parmesan and parsley.
